Running Down the Best of the Rest
Gorging: Enoteca Barbone
EB's owners completely overhauled the old Joey's (including the back patio) before installing their restaurant/wine bar, which soft-opens this weekend. They'll feature dishes like Duck Liver Ravioli and Lamb Milanese, an all-Italian wine list, and an extensive selection of Amaro -- a digestif that, unlike grappa, won't make you throw up before your meal's digestifed.
Drinking: Bao 111 Sake Dinner
On Tuesday, Bao's hosting a five course dinner (+dessert) w/ sake pairings from five artisanal Japanese producers. It's worth reserving one of the limited spots now, as the brewers themselves will be there to discuss their hopes, their dreams, and their booze.
Buying: Kid Robot Smoking Toys
Since you're never too old for toys that smoke, check out Frank Kozik's just-released "Smorkin' Mongers" series: evil-looking bananas, watermelons, wieners, liquor jugs, even cigarettes, all puffin' sweet carcinogens.

Gorging: Taste of the Nation Brooklyn
Also Tuesday, TON's hunger benefit in DUMBO: your ticket gets you chow from 28 Brooklyn restaurants, plus 3hrs of unlimited alcohol. There'll also be Brooklyn artists, authors and designers, who'll tearfully abandon their creative aspirations after being totally ignored in favor of hooch and food.
