Gorging: Week Two of Summer Restaurant Week
As usual, many of the 100+ participants are only slashing prices during lunch, when you're at your desk trying to wipe mayonnaise off your keyboard. We axed those skinflints, then pulled in thestrongbuzz.com's Andrea Strong to help us narrow down the best RW dinner options:
Alphabet City: Mercadito
Chelsea: Suenos
Flatiron: Devi
Flatiron: Periyali
Murray Hill: Artisanal
Murray Hill: I Trulli
Midtown: The Bar Room at The Modern
Upper East Side: Payard
W. Village: August
Gorging: Bondi Road's Gas-Free Tasting Menu
A lot of spastic idiots jumped the gun on when this recently opened fish shack would get their gas. It still hasn't happened, so these ballsy Aussies broke out a flat-top burner to prepare this $25 rotating tasting menu: oyster shooter + shrimp cocktail + crab/lobster wrap + three samples of various fish, + dessert. Since no utilities means no hot water, they're using plastic forks, further proving that Bondi doesn't need no stinking Con Ed.

Drinking: Haru Happy Hour
Gramercy Haru's happy hour features $3 Kirin/Sapporos, $4 sushi rolls, $5 cocktails and sidewalk seating. Enough said.
Suspending: Heroes Baseball Gift Bag Giveaway
We've selected our winner from the Jerry Stackhouse contest. Our decision-making process was arbitrary, but so is David Stern. The Bag goes to: Rory O'Connor. Honorable mention goes to Susan Bonesso, for the brief but compelling "Who's Jerry Stackhouse?"
