Your apartment won't impress anybody just because you added a USB-powered lava lamp. Behold, the digital age's Holy Grail of home design: the mantastic Esquire House 360 through Intel's virtual tour.
Perched high above LA's glittering, smoggy sprawl, the 17,000-square-foot Old Hollywood-style wonderland sports a great room/loggia, pool, cabanas, gym, kitchen/breakfast room, 3500 fish aquarium, terrace, dining room, digital lounge, guestroom, "sauna-fied" bathrooms, office, outdoor bar, and a library blessedly free of books -- all networked through an Intel® ViivTM technology-based entertainment PC. A group of world-renowned designers were asked to go all out with the spaces, using money and materials from the rooms' sponsors:
- SFA Design's tiered Home Theater with comfy room for 13 tricked out with an entertainment PC providing big-screen access to the latest movies, music, games, streamed web content, even slideshows from your recent Vegas indiscretion
- The mammoth Ferragamo master bedroom, equipped with the most luxurious-looking bed this side of a ball pit
- Chimera Designs Asic's Mind, Body, and Soul room featuring a real-time bio-feedback mechanism on your Intel® Centrino® Duo mobile technology-powered laptop
Since the whole idea of a proper pad's the all-night parties you'll host, Intel's got video of celebrity-soaked events (such as the City of Hope fundraiser) as a primer on the Bacchanalian throw-downs you'd expect of yourself. Inspired by all this domestic perfection, you should now be well aware that your lava lamp puts you only a hair above living in your mom's basement.
