Pink Taco

At the Westfield Mall: 10250 Santa Monica Blvd, Century City

Mexican food's a many splendored thing: local delicacy, staple cuisine to millions, contributor to the brisk sale of Tums -- but is it sexy? You bet your sweet ass it will be, when Pink Taco opens tomorrow.

Started by a native Angeleno with a love for fresh guac and lewd puns, PT Century City is his third purveyor of tacos-con-innuendo -- preceded by locations at the Vegas Hard Rock and that most infamous den of debauchery...Scottsdale, AZ. This PT perpetuates the mission of rowdy deliciousness with a rocking, margarita-centric front bar, Eastside decor (shots of tattooed cholos and suspended lowrider bikes), and an expansive outdoor patio equipped with flame pits by which to soothe your splitting, blended drink brain freeze. Food ranges from traditional Carne Asada to the Mexico City Hot Dog -- chorizo stuffed w/ cheese and jalapenos, wrapped in bacon, and topped with tomatoes, onions, and Serrano crema sauce so piquant you'll accidentally describe it aloud as "piquant".

It's tough to reconcile, but all this boozy, binge-y beauty still sits atop the Westfield Mall, itself prized for many things: maze-like parking, a monstrous movie theater, and its own breed of sexy, courtesy of the furtive teens loitering in the Yankee Candle stock room.
