SwapSF

Cellspace: 2050 Bryant St, at 18th; The Mission

You'd love to be the kind of noble, selfless person who gives to charity, but what's in it for you? Get something out of your altruism with SwapSF.

Thrillist - SwapSFHoused in a 10,000 square foot warehouse, Swap's a sprawling, free-for-all clothing exchange: bring down a bag of your unwanted goods, and you can haul away as much as you can carry -- a godsend for thrift store lovers tired of paying astronomical Goodwill prices. Admission's only $5 ($10 w/o sack); that'll get you a license to horde, a free drink from the bar, and a chance to dump those acid wash denim blazers without running afoul of the EPA. Additional drinks are only $2, and, if necessary, there'll be free Meth Coffee to sober you up (or make you stop sleeping/having teeth). There'll also be screen printers and sewing stations, so you can either repair the crotch of your newfound jeans, or print a disclaimer on the back of your shirt warning people to look away if you stop to pick up a quarter.

Now for the charity part: all clothes left behind will go to support various local causes, allowing you to feel noble knowing that you've bestowed upon these unfortunate souls rags that not even a bunch of self-interested, Meth-addled scavengers would touch.
