Food/Drink: Mason-Dixon
Started by the Spitzers guys, this rodeo-aurant doesn't have its name sorted out, but it does have a mechanical bull and antebellum grub like pork chops and chicken fried steak. The taps pour a generous selection of 16 beers, though none's particularly southern (except Stella, from the south of...Belgium).
Food: Bon Appétit's Pop-Up Cafe
This "pop-up" restaurant in the old Hard Rock will offer sub-$10 lunches from a procession of award-winning chefs, including Will Goldfarb (Thor, Picnick), Cat Cora (the first female Iron Chef), and Giada De Laurentiis -- known by film buffs as granddaughter of ubiquitous producer Dino, and by food buffs as Conan the Lasagnarian.
Gear: Sample Sale
Hoodies, coats, and winter jackets from a range of designers (Ben Sherman, People's Liberation, Drifter, etc.), all at 35-80% off -- apropos, given that winter's 35-80% late this year.
Free Drinks: Karlsson's Gold tasting
Hit USQ for a two-hour free tasting of Karlsson's GOLD, a mixing vodka made from a blend of seven different Swedish potatoes (of which they have a surplus, due to Sweden's protracted bikini season).
Gear: Plaster and Paste T-Shirts
Designed and produced in Brooklyn, these tees are inspired by communist Russia, pop and disco, and orthodox religious imagery, resulting in genre-bending designs like "Hasidic": a silhouetted, peyos-sporting Michael Jackson, presumably dancing to "Black or Whitefish".
