THRILLIST New York
Remedy Diner
245 Houston St, at Norfolk; 212.677.5110
Though otherwise delicious, after a night of whiskey binging and canned beer, late-night ethnic food can hate-crime your stomach. Soak up your booze with something familiar, from Remedy Diner, opening Monday. The debut joint from the scion of an Uptown diner magnate, Remedy's a 24/7, reveler-friendly resource with numerous booths ample enough to accommodate the eponymous girl who picked you up at Fat Baby. Though the decor's sleeker than average, the grub is succor-giving comfort food, from all-day breakfast specials (2 eggs, bacon, OJ, coffee, $5.95), to steaks/chops/southern fried chicken, plus breads and pastries made from scratch in Remedy's bakery -- challah! There're also pastas and classic sandwiches, plus more adventurous eats like Pan Seared Mediterranean Sea Scallops -- because after drinking like a fish, might as well eat like a nurse shark.
Come Spring, Remedy'll have outdoor seating, and are currently working on their beer and wine license -- because for the true alcoholic, the only real comfort food is a late night snack of keep-drinking. Check out the menu
