Hump This
Eat: BondSt
In the just-opened Thompson Hotel, this vaunted New York import's bent on establishing themselves in LA's sushi pantheon. Their cooked dishes are also exemplary, e.g., Crispy Goat Cheese Crab Cakes and Sake Steamed Cod -- if people were constantly wringing your liver for oil, you'd be drunk and angry too.
Buy: Taschen
50-75% off thousands of display and slightly-used high-end coffee-table books -- minimal wear-and-tear that's acceptable for finally outfitting your pad with "history's most beautiful celestial atlas" (Harmonia Macrocosmica), but not so much for "three decades of the world's most spectacular curves" (The Big Book of Breasts).

Go: Steve Gullick: A Collection of Musical Photography
Among others, this British rock chronicler's first US show features never-before-seen photos of Kurt Cobain, Elliot Smith, and Jeff Buckley -- a tragic 90s trio a la Hendrix/Morrison/Joplin, except Buckley sang like a girl.

Buy: The Hundreds Fall and Holiday 07 Sale
Whether you're picking up last season's hats, button-ups, denim, or t-shirts, the streetwear boutique's giving you 25% off. (And changing their name to the 75s?)
Eat more: Bistrotek
Opening Saturday in the Custom Hotel, this patio'd, Soho-style loft'll serve up comfort-foody fare like New York Strip Steak and Chicken and Dumpling Soup, even though the restaurant's name sounds like that of a Swiss company that makes machines that makes bistros.
