Shirts that rep the things that make your hometown great should ideally reference the things that make your hometown great (sorry, "Venice Beach Bum"). Legitimize yo' self with Destee-nation.
Started by a Seattleite, Destee collaborates with businesses from CA, WA, HI, and AZ on tees glorifying their iconic operation -- sometimes with reprints, others with original work, all made in LA and sporting tags with background details so you'll know that 9lb Hammer is a Seattle pub w/ free peanuts, and not a Trent Reznor hate club. To rep SoCal, go for beach-leaning current stock like Newport's Blonde Brewing company, Dana Point's Wind and Sea Restaurant, and Malibu's Paradise Cove -- order the shirt for $22, and skip the $25 parking fee. To pretend you've traveled, grab shirts featuring everything from Ballard, WA's defunct Sunset Bowl, to Forestville, CA's Kozlowski Farm Jammerie, to Honolulu's Like Like Drive In Saimin, serving 24hr breakfast since like, like, 1953.
DT's founder's scouting LA proper for the next three weeks, and he does appreciate suggestions, though counseling him to "Save Water: Drink Beer" isn't going to help anyone.
Check out the shirts at Desteenation.com; the "Suggest a Shirt" link's at the bottom of the page
