A Good Day for Vacay

Get details for planning your in-City vacay here

While you could use a long weekend this summer, you're afraid to skip out on work under the mistaken apprehension that somebody will realize you're gone. To help your cause, Thrillist has rounded up four in-the-city hideouts where you can recharge your batteries and sip yourself down some BACARDI® Mojitos.

Giraffe Hotel
This boutique hotel offers possibly the most laid-back rooftop bar in Manhattan -- a manageably sized, well-shaded deck where the not-unattractive waitresses will bring you cold, minty action with maximum rapidity and minimal attitude. Bonus: the unisex bathroom inexplicably sports a working bathtub -- until the knocking becomes unbearable, you can pretend you're floating in a much larger body of water.

Thrillist - BacardiRoosevelt Hotel
Hit this underappreciated Midtown classic's newly opened, daybed-strewn rooftop bar Mad46, where mojitos come garnished with shaved coconut and a chocolate stick; or try the downstairs Club Lounge for mahogany paneling, stained glass windows and leather chairs you'll sink into so deeply, only your drink'll be visible.

Thrillist - BacardiHighbar
Enter the winding concrete tunnel and hop on the dedicated elevator to rise 15 stories above Hell's Kitchen for this well-foliaged, blonde-wooded patio w/ full bar and grill (hamburgers, hot dogs, etc), a heated, fully-enclosable lounge, plus daybeds and a Croatian lounge chair called "The UFO" that's meant for ten people, but in your case can easily accommodate one.

Thrillist - BacardiAVA
Even if AVA's rooftop is washed out by rain, you'll still find sweeping city views in the penthouse lounge. Done up in swimming-pool blue, gold, black, and white, the space feels like a chic version of a grand old licentious hotel; meanwhile, floor-to-ceiling windows provide a commanding overlook of Times Square, making you wonder why you ever bothered drinking in the hot sun in the first place.
