Back Bay/Beacon Hill Wine Tour

Before spending Friday's heat wave sitting in your apartment looking through tangential Facebook friends' photo albums, get drunk on this tour of free tastings from Back Bay to Beacon Hill.

5pm: Wine Gallery (5-7pm)
516 Commonwealth Ave, across from Kenmore Station; 617.266.9300
Gallery’s serving up two different Pinot Grigios, a varietal recently shown to share almost identical DNA to Pinot Noir, suggesting we're all descended from the same Grape Apes.

5:30pm: DeLuca’s Market (5-7pm)
239 Newbury St, at Fairfield; 617.262.5990
Although DeLuca's hasn't settled on what they're pouring yet, they have narrowed it down to "yes".

6pm: Best Cellars (5-8pm)
745 Boylston St, btw Exeter and Fairfield; 617.266.2900
Four wines poured by a rep from Masciarelli, a Mass-based importer/producer specializing in Italian reds for Irish whites.

6:30pm: Charles St. Liquors (5-7pm)
143 Charles St, btw Cambridge and Revere; 617.523.5051
Eschewing the vino, Sam Adams is dropping by with its Beer Lover’s Choice; cast your vote for either the Blackberry Witbier or the Coffee Stout to permanently join Sam’s line of brews, then get bitter in the knowledge that the Electoral College will once again subvert your will.

7pm: Beacon Hill Wine and Spirits (5-8pm)
63 Charles St, at Mt. Vernon; 617.742.8571
Beacon's pouring a Sancerre from the Loire Valley, a German Riesling, and a “nice French Pinot Noir”, a decision made after the last Pinot drank too much of itself and started making racist jokes.

Don't get lost drinking. Print out this map
