Kanji

Japanese love of American culture is more than matched by our love of theirs, from ninjas, to sushi, to Bobby Valentine. Show your respect by putting some lovable Japanese threads in your closet, from Kanji.

Just dropping their summer line, Kanji's a quietly aggressive, hand-detailed collection of shirts, denim, jackets, and hoodies, all crafted in Japan for your express wearing pleasure, or if the evening goes well, your express not-wearing pleasure. Light wears start with the 100% cotton-woven, steezed-up cowboy-style Core Classic short sleeve, w/ double buttons up the front and dual wavy buttoned chest pockets in white, red or brown plaid, or striped; for windier days, there's the mock-necklined, multi-pocket nylon Resin-Coated Jacket, which, while nice to have when you're really desperate, kinda tastes awful. Legwear kicks off with the Vintage Wash jeans (in indigo or black w/ faded seat, zip fly, & black/silver back pocket rhinestone detailing), gets revealing with the Thick Stitch denim shorts (light or medium indigo w/ a unique fly-level seam, cargo pockets, & heavy thread stitching), then moves to the four-cargo-pocketed Cargo Linen shorts, with metallic stud-detailed pockets and detachable belt, though if you find a non-detachable belt, you're likely manacled and in prison.

There's also the medium-weight, charcoal grey, black-elbow-patched Wool Lion jacket, complete with an embroidered lion on the back, which in Japanese culture has the power to repel evil spirits, unless they're cleverly disguised with a fake mustache.
