Meet the place with dogs even more impressive than six-sport star Air Bud: Los Perros Locos, an orange-hued, pink neon-lit, graffiti'd hot dog shack in the LES, which's turning out wonderfully insane Latin America-inspired tubesteaks, burgers, and more.
These toppings sure don't blow: apple chipotle slaw, crushed potato chips, and a dusting of "Perico", which is slang for cocaine. But is actually cheese.
"The Lost Dog" is stuffed in deep-fried French toast, and topped with smoked ham, strawberry ancho jam, and melted Swiss. It's the Monte Cristo of hot dogs.
The [ne] tipico is their standard dog, and it's topped with crushed chips, quatro salsa, and pina. Drop on some melted mozz and deep fried bacon cubes and you've got what they call the Con Todo. Keep going with apple slaw and a quail egg to create this Mas Perfecto.
Served with honey mustard made with Aguila, a Colombian beer.
Burger time! Named after your favorite Puerto Rican rap song from 97.9, this is their take on the classic -- melted "queso Americano", aji panca aioli, and chipotle caramelized onions.
Smoked ham, deep fried bacon, and chicharrones atop melted Swiss.
Holy hell! Waffle fries covered in hot dogs and almost everything else mentioned so far.
"It's like Mexican street corn but better", and it's topped with spicy cotija, a squeeze of lime, and their special "ChipZana" sauce.
Latin American beers and sodas to the dome.
Yet another deep fried bun, only this one's shoved full of dessert. Chocolate-covered banana topped with condensed milk & Farva-free powdered sugar.
