Bringing Dirty 6th an establishment themed after something kids actually do enjoy (sorry, The Library) is Recess Bar: a video-game-centric, exposed-brick watering hole from a promoter who helped put on Nocturnal Fest, and now wants to offer both a haven for older clientele who might otherwise imbibe west of Congress, and a somewhat classy upgrade for the college crowd, whose ladies will of course be eager to return to your Dragon's Lair.
Most games will be set to continuous free-play, with standouts including: SF Rush, Cruisin' USA, Tekken 2, Marvel Superheroes vs. Street Fighter, Golden Tee, Silverstrike Bowling, NFL Blitz, Die Hard, Area 51 vs. Max Force, and Knockout Punching, plus an emulator loaded with every version of Pac-Man, and two Skee Ball lanes, smaller than skeet ball lanes, which span from the window, to the wall.
A specialty cocktail list is in the works, but for now they're pouring frozen-tap liquors like Deep Eddy Vodka and Sweet Tea, $3 wells, and drafts from Pacifico, to Ziegenbock, to Newcastle, always consumed by a lonely Mario at the completion of a Princess-less level.
Making sure the fun-and-gaming doesn't get out of hand, Recess has even included a Breathalyzer machine (which requires no personal info and doesn't save results), ensuring no one will throw the book at you on your way home.
