It takes a certain boldness to refuse a name, and another kind of boldness to go back to Prince when it turns out everyone wants you to have one, but the team behind Untitled is banking on not needing a name to get your attention.

Tucked behind a pair of large, unmarked doors on Kinzie St in a nod to Prohibition supper clubs, the 18000sqft space is divvied up like an old Atlantic City playpad, from the velvet-boothed Library with a towering wall of liquor lockers, to the Lounge with old factory carts & a stage for blues/big band/burlesque, to the secluded, Carroll St back patio, whose soon-to-open secret entrance is only for guests with "Back Stage" reservations.

Snack on some sausage-stuffed fried olives and caramel bacon popcorn w/ bourbon almonds before digging in earnest into grit cakes w/ tomato jam, sweet 'n sour blackberry-sauced goat wontons, and dry-aged rib eyes w/ enough bone marrow butter 'n bordelaise to make your eyes demi-glace over.

As for imbibing, the designated Champagne bar will be pouring a robust selection of bubbly, while composed tipples'll run from the Pistol Smoke (Scotch, pipe tobacco, chamomile, vanilla 'n lemon) to the rye/Cointreau Noir/Manzanilla sherry Up to Date, enough of which could make everything in your mind Formerly Known.
