Punk rock and beer aren't as obvious a choice as they might seem: for example, the former has NOFX, while the latter has so many that it needs a warning label. But that's not stopping brand-new Big Choice Brewing from rawking out anyway.
Named after an album by legendary SoCal pop-punkers Face to Face, Big Choice is singlehandedly changing Broomfield from a suburban wasteland to a... suburban wasteland with an awesome brewery. Grab a prime seat on their eight-draft taproom's mezzanine (whose floor-to-ceiling windows offer sweeping mountain views), and sip their four starters:
The IPA: "Fairly hoppy" without being overly bitter, it's named the Type III after the VW wagon one of the owners drove growing up. Stay tuned for the Jett-altbier!
The Saison: Like Ed Norton in Fight Club, this guy's nameless (and delicious!), and features Madhava's wildflower honey for a "mild sweet flavor" that, unlike Ed Norton in Fight Club, won't "bam you in the face" with hops.
The Red Ale: Named after Face to Face's most popular song ("Disconnected", as if you didn't know), this one's brewed with a crisp chocolate malt that contributes to both its hue & "sweetness profile".
The Poblano Stout: Basically, they take an oatmeal stout, then add poblanos post-fermentation, meaning you avoid the peppers' heat while getting their smokey taste. Oh, so right there, that's one more thing beer and punk fans have in common.
