Unbutton your collar instead of your waistband with Dutch Kills cocktails that taste like Turkey Day

While you prep for Thanksgiving this week, don’t let all the cooking, dicing, zesting, and snacking distract you from an equally important menu: the beverages. Give cocktails the attention they deserve by trying out one of these autumnal concoctions at your Thursday feast, all courtesy of the fine people at NYC's Dutch Kills. They capture the spirit of the holiday, while thankfully omitting floating bits of turkey


Bear Trap

What You'll Need:

  • 1 1/2 oz bourbon
  • 1/2 oz honey syrup
  • Fresh apple cider
  • 1 tsp house spiced butter
  • How to Make It:
    Combine all ingredients in a tempered mug. Steam, add garnish with an apple fan


    A La Mode

    What You'll Need:

    • 1 oz bourbon
    • 1/2 oz Licor 43
    • Mulled cider
    • Sweet whipped heavy cream
    • Fresh grated nutmeg
    • How to Make It:
      Combine all ingredients in a tempered mug. Steam, float cream, and grate nutmeg


      Mulled Cider

      What You'll Need:

      • 1 1/2 oz spirit of choice (Añejo rum, spiced rum, rye whiskey, bourbon, applejack, and cognac recommended)
      • Fresh apple cider
      • Allspice
      • Cinnamon
      • Clove
      • Lemon zest
      • How to Make It:
        Combine all ingredients in a tempered mug. Steam, and garnish with apple fan


        Hot Buttered Rum

        What You'll Need:

        • 1 1/2 oz Añejo rum (spiced rum also recommended)
        • 3/4 oz honey syrup
        • 1 tsp house spiced butter
        • Hot water
        • Fresh grated nutmeg
        • How to Make It:
          Combine all ingredients in a tempered mug. Steam, and grate nutmeg


          Hot Toddy
          What You'll Need:

          • 1 1/2 oz whiskey (rye or bourbon recommended)
          • 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
          • 1/2 oz honey syrup
          • Hot water
          • Fresh grated cinnamon
          • How to Make It:
            Combine all ingredients in a tempered mug. Steam, and grate cinnamon. Garnish with lemon wedge.
