Barwares Fremont's Asian-fusion annex

Proving its owner may have jumped the gun when naming her Asian-fusion hub, Smallwares will get much bigger with the May 8th opening of adjoining Barwares, the hood's only weekday late-night spot. Get there until 2a for small plates, oysters, an impressive cocktail menu whose simple names belie complex flavors ("The Tequila" w/ dry vermouth & citrus syrup; a bright-pink, sake-filled take on the Negroni), and sake/shots from "boot shooters", also what you called the dudes at Old West Bar Mitzvahs who got everyone to dance.
