The owners of Uptown Tap House are calling it the "sister restaurant of Sign of the Whale", but don't feel weird about spending some time inside both of them.
The Cleveland Park-er's kept tavern-dark, accented with retro chrome ceiling fans, marble, and white tile, and livened up with a good-sized patio and stage for live music, none of which you'll be able to dance to after downing mains like bone-in rib-eye marinated in a Southwest spicy sauce & topped w/ an ancho chile butter, and a sandwich w/ house-roasted top-round shredded and covered in beef gravy. Their 10 signature 'tails are highlighted by the Southern Smash (whiskey & mint), but the tap house earns its name with 22 drafts including the Devils Backbone Oktoberfest, Starr Hill's Northern Lights IPA, and, from Duvel, a Belgian Strong, aka a Damme good beer... aka a beer with some kick... aka a beer you won't want to split, even though it could do the splits... etc!
And the place is stocked with 20 TVs, so should you come to watch some fooseball on the weekend, take advantage of a brunch menu with Baileys Irish Cream French toast, and a huge breakfast burrito stuffed w/ scrambled eggs, sausage, home fries, and cheddar cheese, though finishing the whole thing might be a sign that you're becoming a whale.
