Braised pork short ribs and dual patios in Faneuil Hall

Often all it takes to revitalize something is a change of scenery, or at least such is the battle cry of all dads when they move into condos in Mohegan Sun. Embracing a more emotionally healthy change, Anthem Kitchen + Bar, soft-open now. After shuttering its Portland St spot two years ago, the folks behind Ned Devine's and City Table have resurrected this modern eatery in Faneuil Hall, serving an extensive American comfort food lineup in a massive, two-floor 321-seat spot (formerly Plaza III) that maintains five elegantly decorated dining areas equipped w/ dark wooded leather booths, exposed brick/stone walls, dual patios, and a 12-table greenhouse balcony, from which you can watch the fun... wait for it... blossom!!! Burly plates include BBQ braised pork short ribs with cabbage slaw & jalapeno cornbread; a pan roasted Chatham cod shellfish bouillabaisse in a light tomato broth; and a gravy-soaked beef meatloaf laden w/ chorizo & Italian sausage served with whipped spuds and cheesy Texas toast, which would've totally made that greenhouse balcony joke. AKB also cooks up herb-crumb topped four-fromage mac & cheese w/ hot dogs, Tasso ham, or butter poached lobster; a crispy beer battered and tartar-slathered fried cod sandy; and a wood-grilled pizza piled high w/ steak, gruyere, truffled mashed potatoes, and shaved bacon, which looks way better then when it had that stupid soul patch. For small bites/bevies, there're shrimp corndogs w/ sweet/spicy mustard, and pork/smoked ham/salami mini-Cuban sliders that can be washed down with one of 25 beers, or chicktails like the Charlie + The Chocolate Factory (chocolate vodka, white créme de cacao) and the mint and sweet tea vodka'd Nutty Persian, also what dad calls that weirdly colored rug he installed in the condo "foyer" next to the Bowflex.
