Allium Opens, Brazilian Shoes, and Fried Chicken Tacos

Sheedy-um: Allium

Allium

Allium's spiced up the former Seasons space with flourishes like a cheetah-print couch purring before a marble fireplace, as well as nosh from bison tartare w/ waffle chips, beer mustard, and a 62-degree egg, to dry-aged, 23oz bone-in rib eyes with blue cheese fondue. The drink you clearly have to order is a Gin & Juice made with Death's Door and Rosé -- request a cold glass of the latter, and murder will be the case they give the bartender.

Take it by the Horns: Bullhead Cantina

Bullhead Cantina

This red-hued, roadhouse-style dive is slinging nearly 50 whiskeys and getting all kinds of serious about its tacos, hand-making corn tortillas for everything from banana leaf-cooked carnitas, to chipotle-sauced Southern-fried chicken, to sweet potato w/ pickled cabbage & roasted corn, roasted Korn no longer being an option because that dude's like a born-again Christian or something.

Look Over: Clover Sports & Leisure

Clover Sports & Leisure

From a pair of nightlife vets who met working together as bartenders, this boozy throwback provides entertainment both old (retro jukebox) and new (a dozen flatscreens), while their towering oak bar serves up a Scotch-heavy spirits list and simple snacks like classic thin-crust 'zas and fresh-popped corn, a testament to T.O.'s staying power, since most 38yr-olds playing in the Indoor Football League are kind of stale.

Not Head: Bucketfeet

Bucketfeet

The socially conscious Chi-based footwear company is rolling out a series of designs from worldwide artists, starting with a pair of Rio-conceived offerings: Bosque, a graffiti-esque green number the artist says is meant to "bring the 'concrete jungle' to life", and a series of interlocking pastel ribbons against a black background called Something Good, though if you're one of Herman's Hermits, do you even need shoes?
