Happy Bodega

Your new corner store on wheels

Corner stores can handle almost all of your daily needs, but c'mon guys, the corner?! What do they think you are, some kind of super far-flying migratory bird? Unleashing the corner store from its tyrannical location, Happy Bodega.

From a gal who just plain old loves convenience stores, HB is Chi's latest mobile operation, slinging sammies and sundries in a converted ice cream truck (perhaps moved by the Israelites' rocky road?). Sandwiches, which come on thin & crusty baguettes, are filled with the likes of ham & gruyere, brie/tomato/basil, and roast beef/Parmesan w/ arugula, and each is topped with their signature French-style vinaigrette, which still attempts to flee at the sight of German potato salad. Supplementing that's an array of bodega-style snackage (Kettle chips, seasonal fruit cups, locally-made Eat Green Foods granola bars...), and the requisite caffeine boost comes from Crop to Cup coffee and Ineeka Teas, served iced or hot, but not Icy Hot, since that's kinda Ben Gay.

Rounding out the corner options're staples like fresh flowers and the morning paper, which could give you all of your daily news if it weren't for, c'mon guys, reading?! What do they think you are, some kind of super smart ape that can read?
