Lakeview Wine Tour

With Monday being a day of remembrance, go ahead and get your haziness out of the way Saturday w/ this free wine-tastic walking tour.

2:30pm: WineStyles (Noon-9pm)
1433 W Belmont Ave, btw Greenview and Southport; 773.248.3766
WS has various wines open all day, based solely on "game-time decisions by the staff", so you better hope they don't go with the '07 Kerry Wood.

3:00pm: Howard's Wine Cellar (Noon-4pm)
1244 W Belmont Ave, btw Racine and Lakewood; 773.248.3766
Importer Jorge Ordonez of Wines of Spain will be pouring a selection of small-production Spanish wines, not including "Can I have more ice cream, por favor???".

3:30pm: Galleria Liqueurs (3-6pm)
3409 N Southport, at Roscoe; 773.857.6200
GL's giving you tastes of six sub-$20 wines, including a Velvet Devil merlot from Washington and a Chenin Blanc from South Africa's Seven Sisters, two of whom totally put out.

4pm: Que Syrah (3-7pm)
3726 N Southport, btw Waveland and Grace; 773.871.8888
Pop into QS to sample 6-7 wines picked to pair particularly well with your upcoming Memorial Day barbecue, although the 2005 Chateau de Pace Picante is inexplicably absent.

4:30pm: Armanetti (2-6pm)
3530 N Lincoln, btw Cornelia and Hermitage; 773.529.0288
They're pouring a hand-picked collection of wines gathered from countries all over the globe, a wine version of Disneyland's It's a Small World minus the hot little Dutch wines.
