A now-deceased longtime Chicago street photographer whose work was uncovered at an auction, Maier's robust archive (some 40,000 images in all) is being selectively posted online, with much of the collection containing images of Chicago taken from the '50s through the '70s, when Daley was mayor and the Cubs were pathetic -- so, yeah, very different times.
