Thrillist DallasDallas' rental market is a maelstrom, with freshly-erected duplexes battling against crumbling quadriplexes, and sprawling complexes battling against other sprawling complexes when they should be joining forces to become a complex as unstoppable as Village-tron. Sort it all out, with RentJungle.com.
Straight out of the Ohio River Valley, Jungle's an ever-growing rental search engine that targeted the Midwest at launch, but's already expanded into The D with 6K-plus properties within 5 miles of 75201. Culled from a gaggle of helpful sites (from Realtor.com to Craigslist), the properties are searchable by ZIP or address, with results shown in either Gmap form (with popup boxes for address, deets, price, info source, and usually a pic) or as lists; further filter by price, distance, and # of bedrooms/baths, because why live off Lower Greenville if you can't win new friends via dueling always-available toilets? Info's updated every 4 hrs; you'll also find links to area utilities, auto/renter's insurance companies, decorating-advice articles, and sucker-finding agents such as Roommates.com and Roomies.net -- presumptuously named, since "roomie" is a term of endearment that usually takes decades to earn.
Coming improvements include user-submitted content and a full-screen map-plus-list hybrid view that'll combine property info with the Gmap interface and Street View -- from which you'll barely be able to see as high as the ankle of Uptown-tron as it swats alien spacecraft out of orbit.
