Hops & Pie

Constantly taking down pizza and beer can put you in such a rut, a drastic dietary change becomes necessary, like quinoa and acai juice better pizza and better beer. Covering you on both fronts, Hops & Pie.

Converting a former art gallery into a neighborhood haunt highlighted by a bar built from a recycled bowling lane, H&P is run by husband & wife chefs intent on bringing elevated brews and classical cooking techniques to the old-fashioned pizza joint, something even Escoffier wouldn't scoff at, and not just because he hates puns, and is dead. Slices and pies come NYC thin or pan, with artisan combos including roasted beets/arugula/feta/pistachios/sherry vinaigrette, black mission fig compote/smoked bacon/watercress/buttermilk blue cheese/local honey, and blackberry bbq sauce/pulled chicken/pickled jalapeno/goat cheese/black eyed peas -- so this one'll go straight to your lumps, your lumps, your lovely lady lumps. There are also 18 craft taps, from NY's Brewery Ommegang and Missouri's Tank 7 Farmhouse to locals like Upslope, Oskar Blues, Left Hand, Odell and Avery, of which Avalanche players are free to have sloppy seconds.

If you actually don't want pizza (or want pizza and a lot of other stuff), there's non-pie like IPA Mac & Cheese with smoked ham/herbed bread crumbs, as well as a sandwich/soup of the day. Delivery's available too, if the one rut you don't want to escape is the one you've worn into your beanbag chair.
