One huge plus to living in Colorado, it's not Utah, a place that'd probably outlaw another huge plus: Colorado Plus, a Wheat Ridge brewpub (its first and only!) with a staggering 56 taps of Colorado's finest beers, from the big guys to up-and-coming micros, all paired with delicious pub food.Sure, there're must-have handles from Great Divide and Oskar Blues among the 56, but dig deeper and find a Chai Milk Stout from Yak & Yeti, Telluride's Face-Down Brown, and Grimm Brothers Brewhouse Maiden's Kiss, though you'll wish it were a Maiden's Beej. The utilitarian space is massive, seating about 200, so duck away from the crowds in the mod upstairs lounge, decorated with a local artist's colorful work. Can't miss this huge sign across from the main bar, like many of the pub's patrons, it's plastered (on the wall). Pork belly fries can help soak up all that booze. Stuffed Piquillo peppers overflow with Merguez sausage/ goat cheese, and are topped with chimichurri sauce. Sliders match up nicely with the beer, including a lamb with curry sauce, and chicken with apple chutney. For those with larger appetites, order up the mussels in a roasted garlic tomato broth -- fitting, as you'll need plenty of strength to pull yourself away from a bar this awesome.
