Finally, an alarm clock for coffee snobs

Sure, the Oscar Mayer bacon alarm clock was cool, but it was also a tease, waking us up with the scent of deliciousness but not delivering anything edible. Thankfully, we now have this alarm clock by designer Joshua Renouf, which wakes you up with the smell of coffee by actually making coffee, using a sleek system of ball bearings, beakers, and tubes, no less.

The "Barisieur" starts rousing you from your slumber through the clinking ball bearings, which also boil the water through induction heating. Then, once the machine really gets going, the sweet smells of fresh Joe do the rest of the work. Obviously this alarm requires some nightly prep to function, but when coffee in bed is on the (bedside) table, we think you can manage to refill the beans.
