Beer popsicles win the Summer

The Summer shandy is a thing of beauty, a hybrid of beer and lemonade that tastes better as the heat rises. Now, over in London, a delegation of brewers and popsicle-makers (or ice-lolly makers, as they weirdly say) have taken the shandy one step further by freezing it and putting it on a stick.

These dazzling displays of portmanteau are the work of Lickalix and Camden Town Brewery. Brits have their choice between the hearty Blackberry Shandy (a blend of blackberries, lemon, and Camden Hells Lager) and the lighter Lemon and Bergamot Shandy (a mix of lemons and Gentleman’s Wit wheat beer). According to The Drinks Business, both pops are set to launch at the brewery's Tank Party on August 23. Alas, unless you're across the pond, you're not gonna get one. But this should inspire you to get creative with the freezer -- or ice box, or whatever -- by making your own boozy pops.
