Vernors Slurpee could become Michigan's state drink

People in Michigan get fired up about a lot of things, from the Great Lakes and coneys to the feeling that this is the year the Lions will make the playoffs (a feeling that lasts five minutes). But 7-Eleven might be sending Michiganders into absolute shock by unleashing the Vernors Slurpee.

Vernors can be found all over the country, but in its birthplace of Michigan, people go completely crazy over the ginger ale, which is in fact the oldest soda (aka pop) in the US. It can be found in cocktails, shakes, and medicine cabinets (seriously) all over the state. But now, Michigan's 7-Elevens have finally made dreams come true by producing Vernors in Slurpee form. It's already hit over 200 stores, and is liable to expand even more as the new Slurpee hits local billboards and TV. Based on the early reactions, this thing might become the state beverage faster than it takes the Lions to fumble

Guess you really do have to visit Detroit now.
