Bar d'Eau

Swimming and lawn games, Trump style

Summer getaways are rarely as relaxing as hoped, from spending half the weekend sitting in traffic, to spending the other half of your weekend...sitting in traffic. Skip the drive and getaway in the city, at Bar d'Eau.

The Trump Soho's swank new Soho House-like seasonal lounge's expressly set up to accommodate New Yorkers' need for laid back warm weather fun, brought to you by the team behind some of "South Beach's hottest nightspots", making it the perfect place to spend a Mynt. Sun can be soaked poolside, where a cascading waterfall's surrounded by deck chairs and circular loungers, or in one of the three shaded cabanas that guard a white gravel bocce court abetted by a small lawn boasting futuristically steez'd pod-like white benches, foreshadowing a time when no-one will grow old, and henceforth play bocce. Set up like a tropical drug lord's antechamber, the lounge provides an elegant respite from the heat and day-time workspace, with large sliding glass ushering in light, hand-stitched black leather chairs, and elegant touches like a bead-draped chandelier (odd, as it isn't showing its head lights).

Making your shirtless body less acceptable're elevated small bites like crispy calamari, curry lobster rolls, and beef/lamb sliders, while making you not care're specialty 'tails including iced Bourbon Tea, the Mekhong Sling (pineapple, Cherry Heering, lime), and seasonally-fruited Summer Old Fashioneds -- spend half your weekend drinking 'em and you'll wish all you did was sit in traffic.
