Gourmet ramen kits are here to replace instant noodles

Outside of major cities, most Americans know ramen exclusively in its instant form: a solid brick of wavy, yellow noodles accompanied by a powdered flavor packet, all of which was probably pilfered from their college roommate.

Well, Sun Noodle -- the noodlesmith behind ramen giants Ivan Ramen and Momofuku Noodle Bar -- is here to change that, with its release of fancy, artisanal make-at-home ramen kits. They'll come in Shoyu and Miso varieties, and will totally blow noodle bricks out of the (boiled) water.

The kits will be refrigerated (due to the perishable nature of the noodles), will come with a "concentrated" sauce, and will finally allow you to channel your inner ramen chef in the comfort of your own home. Unfortunately, they'll only be available at Whole Foods in the greater NY/NJ area for now, but hopefully everyone in America will get a taste in the near future.
