No matter how sweet your Peter Quill costume is, your neighbors might refuse to give candy to a grown-ass adult. But never fear, for your favorite fast-food chains are stepping in with free (or discounted) deals that would make even Frankenstein smile. Here's when & where you have to show up, and what you gotta do to acquire your comped eats. Trust us, they're all better than loose NECCO Wafers.

Krispy Kreme
The Deal:
Free donut of your choice, provided you're wearing a costume (we suggest Dr. Venkman).
When: All day long.

Arby's
The Deal: Free bacon on anything you order, as long as you say "trick or meat".
When: All day long.

Chipotle
The Deal:
$3 "Booritos" -- Steve Ells just can't resist a good pun -- to anyone in costume.
When: From 5pm to close.

Sonic
The Deal: $.50 corn dogs, and you don't even need to whip out your masterful "ghost" outfit to get one.
When: All day long.

Wendy's
The Deal: Buy a coupon book for $1, get a whole bunch of vouchers for free Jr. Frostys. All proceeds go to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
When: All day long.

IHOP
The Deal:
Free scary face pancakes, but only if you're a child, or can pass for 12. Get excited, creepy lady from Orphan.
When: From 7am to 10pm.

Kristin Hunt is a Food/Drink staff writer for Thrillist, and doesn't think she can pass for 12, but the bouncer at her company Halloween party did quiz her about her legal ID for 20 minutes, so maybe. Follow her at @kristin_hunt.
