This Is the Only Legal Way to Get British Candy Bars Right Now

UPDATE: Since the time of publishing, British Chocolate Club has closed down.

Following a recent lawsuit instigated by Hershey's, American importers are now barred from bringing British candy bars, chocolates, and other confections into the US. The Pennsylvania-based candy titan alleges that many products being imported from across the pond are too similar to their candies, and therefore must be stopped. And, for the most part, people are complying. But the lawsuit has also inspired some folks to find loopholes so that Americans can still taste that sweet, sweet English chocolate -- folks like the couple behind the British Chocolate Club.

The "Club," started by Robert Jeffreys and Rebecca Gerken in Kings Lynn over in England, is a care-package delivery service that allows them to send hand-picked British chocolates like Cadbury Flakes, Crunchies, Toffee Crisps, Galaxy Minstrels, and others (with even sillier names) directly to interested American parties. It's a move Hershey's not too thrilled about, but so far there hasn't been any official legal action, and the couple is confident they're in the right, saying that it's fine since the chocolates are for private consumption.

Membership is subscription-based on a month-to-month or three-month prepaid basis, and you can opt for a box of eight candies for $15 per month, or the "Pride of Britain" package, with 15 bars for $26 per month.
