Kool-Aid pickles are here to either make or ruin your Summer

Signs of Summer are all around us, from the influx of sweaty people on the street to stories like this one from Huffington Post about the Koolickle. What's a Koolickle? That'd be a pickle steeped in Kool-Aid (usually cherry), and they're a delicacy in the Mississippi Delta. While the rest of the country has been mixing its pickle brine with whiskey, mavericks in MS have apparently been combining the brine with bright red Kool-Aid and letting their dills sit in the stuff until they're the ultimate blend of sweet and sour. It's super easy to replicate even if you're uninitiated -- just follow the five-step process from this blog. Meanwhile, the pickle haters can find comfort here, as this was probably a rough story for them.
