Krispy Kreme made a box of 2,400 donuts and gave it away for free

When we talk about giant amounts of donuts, we're usually talking about the United States (more specifically in the context of Homer Simpson, or eating all of these Ghostbusters ones), but in this case, our great nation's been outdone by the UK -- Krispy Kreme across the pond recently gave away a box of 2,400 glazed donuts that they're calling the Double Hundred Dozen. It's 11ft long and one meter tall, and, as you can see from the picture, requires four extremely happy people to transport it.

The winner of this (hopefully not) one-time stunt box was determined by a Twitter contest, with a multitude of offices around the country competing to see who could get their bid retweeted the most times. Coming out on top was 360 Resourcing, which is celebrating its fifth anniversary and impending hospitalization for sugar overdose.

The promotion was introduced for Krispy Kreme UK's new Occasions initiative, which will deliver personalized donuts, donut towers, and other donut-based party platters to anyone you choose. We hope you'll keep a certain handsome online lifestyle newsletter in mind when they start doing it stateside.
