6 free donut deals for National Donut Day

Adam Lapetina

As those of you who are up on your freebie food calendars know, tomorrow -- June 6th -- is National Donut Day, the most important holiday of the year (suck it, Boxing Day!). On this auspicious day, vendors across the country generously feed you donuts at no charge. But you can't go banging on just any bakery's door demanding crullers (well, you can, but some of them have mace). Here are six freebies from six different brands -- go forth, and use this information wisely.

Krispy Kreme
The Deal: One free donut at any location, excluding Connecticut (you know what you did).
When: All day.

Dunkin' Donuts
The Deal: One free donut at participating stores, with the purchase of any drink. Even Cookie Dough Coffee.
When: All day.

Tim Horton's
The Deal:
One free donut with any purchase.
When: All day, because the Canadians are such a kind folk.

Shipley Do-Nuts
The Deal:
One free glazed donut and a small coffee. Looks like everything really is bigger in Texas.
When: Between 5am and 12pm.

Cumberland Farms
The Deal:
One free donut with the purchase of any coffee or "Chill Zone" beverage. (To clarify, the Chill Zone means slushies, not a John Grisham novel.)
When: All day.

Entenmann's
The Deal: A contest that could land you free Entenmann's donuts for a year, or at least one comped box and some donut plush toys.
When: This started way back in April, and is going through June, but there are 10 separate entry periods you gotta look for. The latest one is running now until June 9th at 11:59pm ET. Only one entry per promotion period, so don't get crazy.

Bonus Maybe Deal
Mrs. Freshley's
The Deal: Unclear, though they've cryptically told fans to tell them why they love donuts using the hashtag #GoNutsforDonuts for a "huge surprise". That could be free donuts, or it could be an especially nice tweet back. Attempt at your own risk.
When: All day... we assume.
