The newest Lay's chip flavor has been chosen

When Lay's asked America to come up with the contenders for its latest Do Us A Flavor contest, a few intriguing entrants stepped up to the plate (er, chip bowl?). We were faced with the Herculean task of choosing between Cappuccino, Wasabi Ginger, Cheddar Bacon Mac & Cheese, and Mango Salsa. Finally, though, a winner has been crowned: chip fans can look for Wasabi Ginger Lay's on shelves in the near future.

The flavor, submitted by New Jersey nurse Meneko Spigner McBeth, will join Cheesy Garlic Bread in the pantheon of voter-chosen chips, and its inventor will earn $1 million (or a portion of sales) for her ingenious flavor-smithing. We just hope they're using real wasabi.
