5 new things at Smorgasburg (like General Tso's buttermilk-fried chicken)

Over the years, some seriously hot foodstuffs have sprung from the outdoor Williamsburg/Brooklyn Bridge Park market Smorgasburg, like your idea for a shop selling only sliced steak and creamed spinach (which is genius). Well now it's BACK, with a slew of culinary contenders for the next big thing. Pro tip: get there early if you don't want to wait in some crazy lines.

Martha: An offshoot of the new Brooklyn restaurant with the same name (... Martha), this open-both-days stand is a prime contender to be the next breakout, line-inducing hit, thanks to buttermilk-brined fried chicken that's ALSO glazed with General Tso's sauce. Don't wait on this one -- this is what it feels like to have your dreams come true.

Gooey & Co.

Gooey & Co: Apparently in St. Louis, they eat these things called Gooey Butter Cakes, which if you'd known existed, you would've been eating too. Well now that you do, get on board at this open-both-days stand, created by a St. Louis native.

Maroon Sausage Co.

Maroon Sausage Co.: Only available on Sunday at the Brooklyn Bridge Park location, this newcomer is hitting you with homemade jerk chicken sausages by a couple who come from Jamaica and the Midwest, so spice and sausage are kinda their things.

El Super

El Super: Available either day, these LA-style tostadas aren't weirdly insecure about their city, but are in fact filled with goodness like octopus, shrimp, scallops, and other ingredients frequent to the food trucks over there.

Andrew Zimmer

Txorozeria: Another newcomer to the sausage game, this stand (open at either location on Saturday or Sunday) is grinding out Uruguayan-ish links that have every single thing made in-house, including the bread you get them in. Let's hope it's sausage weather this weekend.
