Starting tonight, the Uptown Film Festival is storming Birmingham with 60+ flicks, including locally shot works like Donald (an ad exec is asked to commit murder... by a sock puppet!) and Detroit Winter (dude accidentally hits ex-gf with a car, then they get a bunch of automatic weapons for some reason) plus a special screening of Gerard Butler's newest, Machine Gun Preacher, in which a drug-dealing biker finds God, then like most people in his situation, attempts to save Sudanese child soldiers.
