In our short time on this planet, we have had the good fortune to unlock many glorious food combinations -- PB&J, spaghetti and meatballs, and of course, pig and whiskey. Friday, July 18th: No longer just how Yoda tells you he's got this round, Free the Brews is an educational, beer-filled evening hosted by Atwater Brewery and Generation Opportunity. Prepare to enjoy free Atwater suds while brewery owner Mark Rieth schools you on how to start a successful microbrewery. Bonus: they're offering a $25 Lyft credit to attendees, so you can enjoy all the gratis beverages you want.

Detroit Historical Museum

Saturday, July 19th: In case you didn’t know, Detroit turns the ripe old age of 313 this year, and the Detroit Historical Museum is celebrating the special number by throwing a week’s worth of events, which kicks off Saturday with a procession of guitarists through Midtown, naturally.

Michigan Jazz Festival

Sunday, July 20th: Schoolcraft is hosting its 20th Annual Michigan Jazz Festival, which includes six stages of free jazz, along with assorted lunch and dinner fare provided by Schoolcraft’s culinary experts.
