Because you can actually only go to Comic-Con one week a year, spend the other 51 reading Mad New World, an irreverent comic-skewering blog written by two Cali dudes and some other guy that features mocking studies of comics' finest moments, worst faux pas, and upcoming book-based movies, which tend to do phenomenally at the box office despite being Incredible Hulks of crap. Some highlights from their quest for all-consuming comic knowledge include:

On leaked pics of the The Amazing Spiderman set
"The new pictures show Rhys Ifans, who is playing Dr. Connors aka The Lizard, talking with Peter Parker. The first one shows him showing Parker something that looks like a mouse, though this could also be a really sketchy mid-day heroin purchase. If this is the case it looks like it is going really poorly and Parker is about to be shot in the face...this would be a huge plot twist."

On Banshee, No. 3 in their "Top 5 Gingers In Comics"
"It's characters like Banshee that make me wonder what kind of acceptance criteria the X-Men are using. Banshee is a mutant with perhaps the lamest power ever written: being able to scream really loud. He also named himself after a mythical fairy woman and decided the best costume was a nightgown/ squirrel suit hybrid. This is clearly the work of a fire crotch mind in action."

On Natalie Portman appearing in Thor
"Rumor has it (according to a completely unreliable source) the original script included a 3-minute sequence dedicated to a lesbian act of mutual fellatio. However, Portman worried about being 'typecast', opted out, stating her opinion that the plot should stick more tightly to the comics, which to her knowledge contained no such acts of female affection. It pains me to say that after extensive research into this she appears to be correct."
