Because you've been watching a lot of Boardwalk Empire lately and really wishing Paz de la Huerta was actually rentable you could party like Prohibition were still a thing, head to The Bootleggers Ball, tomorrow night in Potrero Hill.
Orchestrated by some people who felt SF's Lindy Hop scene didn't have enough actual partying attached to it (right??), BB's a 1920s-recalling soiree housed in the nearly 100yr-old Slovenian Hall that kicks off with a brief lesson on how to do the Hop, followed by a live local band that'll be swinging until midnight, at which point they'll bring out a DJ, and you can finally request some L.L. Coolidge J. While there's no bar at this thing, the entire event is BYOB-approved, so, depending upon your level of awesomeness, you can show up with a 30-pack of 'Stone Lights, a briefcase containing all the necessary bartender tools to make yourself Sazeracs (which some guy actually did last month), or several bottles of Champagne (JK, those bubbles tickle!!) -- either way it's all not only allowed but encouraged, plus you get "bonus points for hip flasks".
As this is a monthly event, they'll feature a new live band every time (even flying some in) and you don't need to worry about bringing a date because the ladies there are ready to dance -- hell, you might even get Nucky.
