This smaller, take-out-encouraged, 6th offspring of the retro-themed Ruby's Diner is celebrating its opening (in a refurbished 40's-era cafe all the way at the pier's end) with an all-day blowout featuring music from a live surf rock band and gratis grub like burgers, fries, and samples of their shakes, which include caramel, peanut butter, and "Banana Cream Dream", which you've mostly grown out of.
