There was a movie in the late '90s about a genius from Southie and his inability to break free of his loyal ties to his neighborhood & friends to pursue his dreams of doing sex with Minnie Driver in California. And after that movie, non-locals started to take notice of this little Irish piece of Boston on the water, thus spawning an initial period of gentrification along East Broadway, and then another before the housing bubble burst in 2008, and then another that is happening right at this moment. All of which is just to provide historical context before telling you that Fenway's cultish favorite Tasty Burger now has a Southie location.
