While Dallas was busy bringing Chicago marijuana (have you Hurd that story? Amazing), Chicago's Restaurants-America was busy planting a foothold in the Dallas resto scene, first with Primebar and Townhouse, and now with Park Tavern, opening next week at The Shops At Park Lane. Centered around a beastly bar, the lofty, brick-columned dining room will have you starting off with prosciutto-topped deviled eggs, octopus a la plancha, and a "Little Jar of Jam": roasted garlic, pickled cherries, and bacon jam, also an Allman Bros track that really sizzles.

Once your stomach's in the groove, move on to root-beer-BBQ short rib tacos (w/ cascabel chili, avo, white cheddar), a PT Maki roll (shrimp, crab, avo, tempura crumbs, pickled carrot, cuke, nori), or a cheesesteak loaded with bell peppers, onion, jack, sweet chili oil, and Korean beef bbq, one reason Kim's waistline was not Lil'. You're probably a huge drinker, which is good, because that bar -- and the bar on the upstairs patio -- boasts 40 Texas-heavy taps, and there are also cocktails galore, from The Dirty CEO and its bleu-stuffed olives, to the tequila/agave juice/mezcal Smokin' Presidente -- if he's doing it, why shouldn't Sam Hurd?
