Just because St. Louis ruined our October doesn't mean she's our Arch-enemy. Here with a big, fat gesture of friendship: Tomato Pie, opening next week.
From a Show Me Stater attracted to our apparently very sexy restaurant market, this take-out specializes in STL-style pies, which feature a thin, yeast-less crust and mozz/provolone instead of the traditional Provel, which is either the unimaginative fake name Darren Rovell uses when hanging with Ron Mexico, or a provolone/white cheddar/Swiss hybrid. The round 'n saucy comes with all the classic toppers, and specialties run from the Pepperoni Lovers (the good stuff over and under the cheese), to the bacon-assisted Chicken Caesar, to the salsa, hamburger, jalapeno, and cheddar Mexican, which weirdly, Ron isn't.
Alternatively or additionally, load up meat-sauced toasted ravioli, cheesy baked pastas from meat cannelloni to mostaccioli, a sextet of wings (garlic parm, sweet chili...), or hulking sandwiches like a ham/roast beef/salami Italian and a roast beef au jus, though technically, the Cards didn't really start winning 'til Big Mac was gone...
