Filipino, check! Caribbean, check! American, check!

Few people think "exotic" when they think of Mom's home cooking, because who wants to imagine her dancing on a pole while basting? Proving that people in faraway places also have moms, who also cook: Lucy's.

Named after a momma now fulfilling her lifelong dream of owning a restaurant, Lucy's is simply outfitted with beige booths, large tropical(ish) plants & hanging lights, and plates her classic Filipino dishes, plus completely unrelated Caribbean delights from a family friend who wanted to provide "mostly Haitian food" to Denver, likely angering all the aid groups trying to feed the Haitian people with it. Filipino comfort includes lumpia ("like an egg roll" with "more meat and veggies"), noodles with julienned carrots/cabbage/green beans/ boiled eggs called pancit, plus Lucy's Famous Filipino Fried Chicken, which has an "Asian taste" and isn't heavily breaded, unlike that damn Colonel, who's stacking mad Extra Crispy money. If you're feeling in a beachy mood, go Caribbean with deep-fried and marinated pork called griot (sides include red beans, rice, fried plantains, and hot pepper coleslaw), a marinated/ fried sirloin called Tassout Beef, and a pork butt called Cochon Nan Fou that's been "roasted for 6-7hrs", meaning by the end, they must've been desperate enough for material to let Whitney Cummings go.

For those not interested in taking their palate on vacation, they also have American comfort like BBQ ribs/ chicken, burgers, and a cilantro pork sammy in a tortilla, more than enough options to ensure that unlike an embarrassing stripper-mom, you don't split.
