Sometimes you just need a little push to get where you want to go, although other Salt-N-Pepa songs have proven to be good traveling music as well. For a guy who got nudged into filling you with delicious eats, flag down Bite Gastrotruck, officially rolling tomorrow.
Bite's the mobile brainchild of a versatile South Florida chef and "culinary entertainer" whose showings at local burger battles so impressed red-meat maven the Burger Beast, said Beast convinced him to take his patties and other diverse creations on the road (and with an endorsement like that, you'd have to be Kero-whack not to).
The way-more-than-burgers menu gets going with snacks ranging from lemon miso vinaigrette-/chili-covered calamari, to fried risotto packed with homemade jalapeno cheese, to tuna nachos piled high with green onions, soy syrup, wontons, wasabi guac & seaweed, which Snoop Dogg can do now, because it's all for his glaucoma, really. Really!
Deliciously inventive sandwiches, meanwhile, include a black pepper biscuit housing barbecued brisket & pineapple-jalapeno slaw, and a slow-roasted pork guy covered with garlic aioli, jalapenos, caramelized onions & Vermont cheddar, plus, of course, zee burger, which augments the beef with toppings like garlic-truffle mayo, a fried egg, onion-bacon jam, and double-smoked bacon, which...dammit Snoop, stop smoking things and get the hell out of here!
