Sushi and pork belly finally become one

Because there can't be too much of a good thing, unless that thing is named Charlotte, the Pubbelly dudes are opening Pubbelly Sushi today. Right next door to the original, it's also nailed the classed-up watering hole feel via exposed brick, massive multicolored chalkboard menus, and a sweet bright yellow/red graffiti mural featuring some sushi, Asian lettering, and Karate-chopping pigs, not to be confused with those Cobra Kai guys.

Although it's definitely a sushi joint, the menu awesomely maintains the trio's comfort food spin in starters like French onion miso soup with Gruyere toast, BBQ edamame, "New England Style Rolls" (little sandwiches with stuff like fried clams & coleslaw), as well as buffalo aioli-/blue cheese-/burdock-smothered rock shrimp (RIP Ronnie James Dio).

And since you could very easily hear some Tupac in this place, picture them rollin' some delicious sushi like the BBQ Porkbelly & Clams stuffed with kimchee & coleslaw, the Softshell Crab BLT with all sorts of bacon, and the Bigeye Tuna, which deep-fries the rice and adds a buttload of truffle oil, which the attendants at Chunk's Tan-o-rama will gladly rub on your back free of charge.

Drink-wise, they're pushin' craft Japanese imports like Hitachino Belgian White Ale and Kirin Ichiban, as well as a dozen-plus sakes, some of which're leveraged for cocktails like the jalapeno/pineapple-infused Spicy Pina, and a fruit-packed mimosa coined the Passion Belly, also Hype Williams' take on Mel Gibson's film, in which Nas plays God's son, while playing God's Son.
